Trainer/Co-Trainer
Computer Trainers and Co-Trainers provide free training sessions on the use of PC's, the Internet and E-Mail. Classes are one time, usually 2 hour sessions that cover many of the basic concepts in beginning the adventure of Internet and computer use. It is not necessary to be a pro at the computer or the Internet; only that you would like to pass on the skills and knowledge you have. Trainers and co-trainers will possess the following qualities and skills:
- Be capable of passing their skills on to the people they train.
- Love to watch and help people learn.
- Understand how to use the Internet.
- Attend one train-the-trainer session, and be available for other training sessions.
- Commit at least ten volunteer hours.
Location Coordinator
Use your leadership and motivational skills to coordinate the training activities at their locations. Coordinators work closely with site staff, volunteers, and the SRC Volunteer Coordinator to make sure that the electronic information needs of community residents are given due attention.
Duties include:
- Ensuring that all volunteers have initial and ongoing training.
- Scheduling volunteers to teach classes.
- Reporting equipment maintenance and repair needs to SRC Technical Support.
- Maintaining open communication with site staff concerning training scheduling, special events, and the site's needs and concerns.
- Recording events and classes in a journal to be aware of the usage trends of the site.
- Location Coordinators preferably live within the community they wish to serve.
